The Nook is a community space run by seven friends who believe a stronger San Francisco begins with stronger human connection. We created this space to be beautiful, welcoming, and accessible to community groups across the city — particularly artists and cultural organizers.

Our mission is to make it easier for people to gather, create, and build the relationships that sustain civic life in San Francisco. What began as a simple question — "What would people create if space were available to them?" — has grown into a home for over 250+ gatherings and a wider community of cultural organizers.

The Nook is unique because nobody profits. The organizers are unpaid, and every dollar contributed by the community goes directly to keeping the space open and building more of it. If you'd like to get involved or donate, scan the QR codes on the wall by the kitchen. Thank you for being here.
